Enjoy an early chance to experience our new drama Hello Charlie as we present a staged reading as part of Front & Centre: International Women’s Day Playwriting Festival this March at the Playhouse in Derry.
On Sunday 8 March, there will be a stage reading of an extract of this new drama we are co-producing with SkelpieLimmer, Front & Centre, and Pavilion Theatre in association with Fishamble ahead of its world premiere this autumn.
Written by Derry actress and playwright Caoimhe Farren, Hello Charlie is a courageous and fiercely original portrait of addiction that was a finalist for The Victoria Wood Playwriting Prize for Comedy and shortlisted for the Women’s Prize.
The reading will be followed by a post-show discussion with special guest, creator and writer of Derry Girls, Lisa McGee.

Front & Centre: International Women’s Day Playwriting Festival is a three-day festival over International Women’s Day weekend (6th – 8th March 2026) at the Playhouse, Derry. This three-day festival seeks new ways of collaborating and creating space for female and non-binary playwriting in the theatre industry of the north.
The festival promises to be an inspiring weekend of creative exploration, thought-provoking panels, open conversation, workshops and performances. Whether you’re a writer, artist, academic, or theatre enthusiast, or completely new to the form, your voice is welcome.
