What a summer it’s been! From cross-community drama to mask-making, animation and storytelling, The Viewing Project has been in full swing across An Grianán and out into the community. Here’s a look back at everything that’s happened — and what’s still to come.
Sister Sister Project & Summer Camps (20th May – 24th June)
The Sister Sister Project — a wonderful cross-county, multi-faith group — kicked things off on 20th May, working with LYFS (Letterkenny Youth and Family Services) and artist Deborah Stockdale. Running alongside this, our Viewing Project in-house summer camp programme brought young people into An Grianán for six weeks of creative activity.
Foróige Killybegs: Writing, Performing & Storytelling (29th June – 3rd July)
Ultan Pringle worked with Foróige in Killybegs on The Viewing Project, guiding young people through writing, performing and storytelling — building their own narratives as part of the wider project.
Drama & Mask Making at An Grianán (6th – 10th July)
Artist Valerie Bryce delivered a fantastic series of drama and mask-making sessions at An Grianán, giving participants the chance to build confidence and creativity through performance.
Performance & Improv with Andrea Emmett (13th – 17th July)
Artist Andrea Emmett led a week of performance and improvisation, helping participants find their voice and think on their feet.
Animation with Donegal Youth Service (20th – 24th July)
John D. Ruddy collaborated with Donegal Youth Service to create a stunning piece of animation — a brilliant example of how digital and traditional storytelling can come together.
Drama & Mask Making with LYFS Letterkenny (20th – 27th July)
Valerie Bryce returned for a wonderful series of drama and mask-making work with LYFS Letterkenny.
Making Magic with Donegal Youth Service (27th – 31st July)
Orson Sterritt worked with Donegal Youth Service for a week described simply as “making magic” — and by all accounts, that’s exactly what happened.
Taster Workshop with Donegal Volunteer Service
Our own Project Manager Noeline Kavanagh led a taster workshop with the Donegal Volunteer Service at An Grianán, introducing new participants to the project.
Final Summer Week: Youth Theatre (10th – 14th August)
Our summer programme wraps up with one final week of Youth Theatre at An Grianán, led by our brilliant YT director Niamh McPhillips.

Welcoming Niamh Shields
Finally, we’re delighted to announce that Niamh Shields is joining The Viewing Project team as our new Social Media Officer in late August. Niamh will be helping us share all the magic happening at An Grianán with a wider audience — more to follow soon!
