Featuring DCO Alumni and introducing DMEP’s rising star pianist Marcos Andriolo.
Join the Donegal Chamber Orchestra (DCO) and special guests as we celebrate 20 years of wonderful music-making in Donegal and beyond. We’re marking this milestone in true DCO style with a celebratory programme featuring past and present orchestra members performing together on stage in what promises to be one of the musical highlights of 2026 at An Grianán Theatre.
Special guests for the evening include the ensemble’s long-time collaborator, internationally acclaimed flutist Amy Gillen, alongside two much-loved Ireland-based artists: renowned flamenco guitarist Juan José Manzano and sensational flamenco singer and dancer Rebeca Sánchez. The concert will also introduce the Donegal Music Education Partnership’s (DMEP) rising star, the exceptionally talented young pianist Marcos Andriolo.
The DCO’s programme celebrates the number 20 through works by Elgar, Telemann, Weiner and Manuel de Falla, alongside vibrant flamenco music. The programme also features music by Chopin, LutosÅ‚awski and Górecki, celebrating Ireland’s EU Presidency partnership, in which Donegal is paired with Poland. As the closing concert of the annual Chamber Music Festival, the evening will showcase a celebratory flair of Polish and Spanish music.
The Donegal Chamber Orchestra is one of the ensembles of the Donegal Music Education Partnership (DMEP), part of the Donegal Education and Training Board.
Founded in 2006 by two highly regarded musicians now based in Donegal, Hungarian violinist Orsolya Szabó-Yélamo and Spanish cellist VÃctor Yélamo, the orchestra has become a cornerstone of classical music-making in the county.
