Indian Community Centre Letterkenny and Donegal County Council invite you to a day of food, performances and fun for their An Grianán Theatre Takeover from 1pm to 5pm.
The theatre will host intercultural activities, including henna tattooing, children’s games, live performances, craft stalls, multicultural food and a community art exhibition.
The day will encourage participation and offer hands-on creative experiences for families and individuals of all ages.
Donegal Mela celebrates cultural diversity, promotes community wellbeing and broadens access to high-quality arts experiences across Donegal. The festival provides a welcoming, inclusive platform for local, migrant, minority ethnic – global majority communities to share artistic traditions, collaborate and participate fully in cultural life. The 2026 programme will animate multiple cultural spaces in Letterkenny, encouraging audiences to explore diverse art forms and engage with creativity in new ways.
Programme Overview:
Friday – Bollywood Night at the Regional Cultural Centre, 7pm to 10pm: Enjoy an evening of Bollywood dance, music and film, with live performances and opportunities for audience participation. This event showcases the cultural contributions of Donegal’s Indian community and sets an energetic tone for the weekend.
Saturday – An Grianán Theatre Takeover, 1pm to 5pm: The theatre will host intercultural activities including henna tattooing, children’s games, live performances, craft stalls, multicultural food, and a community art exhibition. Sunday – Yoga Day at the Vestry, 2pm to 4pm: A large-scale yoga session will close the festival with a focus on wellbeing, promoting physical and mental health while encouraging intergenerational and multicultural participation.
