A fast-paced, intergenerational story of love, loss, and legacy set on an Arctic cruise ship that takes the audience on a journey to bid farewell to the ice caps. Guided by an unhinged cruise ship captain, HOTHOUSE tells the familiar stories of one family’s legacy, from 9 year old Ruth in 1960’s Ireland to her great-great-great-great-great grandchildren 100 years from now. Written by Carys D. Coburn with original songs and music by Anna Clock.

Formed in 2015, Malaprop Theatre is an award winning collective of Dublin based theatre makers. Work to date includes LOVE+, BlackCatfishMusketeer, JERICHO, Everything Not Saved, HOTHOUSE, GULP (video), Before You Say Anything and Where Sat the Lovers.
The company has won Best Production and Best Design Ensemble (Dublin Fringe 2023), the Spirit of Fringe Award (Dublin Fringe 2015), Melbourne Fringe Award 2018, the Romilly Walton Masters Award 2018, and the Georganne Aldrich Heller Award (Dublin Fringe 2017).
They have performed their work in Ireland, the UK, France, China, Australia and the USA. This is their first visit to An Grianán.
