In January ’23 we produced Letterkenny writer Kieran Kelly’s new play, Jimmy’s Winnin’ Matches, which attracted attention not just from the public, but from members of the 2012 All Ireland Winning team, who turned out to see it and declared it a winner! So much so that we’re bringing it back for this year’s Earagail Arts Festival in July.
Croke Park, September 2012. As Donegal take to the field for their All Ireland final against Mayo, their first in twenty years, Danielle “Dodo” O’Donnell watches behind the goals in Hill 16. As the ball is kicked high into the square, her life flashes before her eyes as she recalls the highs and lows she experienced over those twenty years.
Louise Conaghan brilliantly portrays each of the colourful characters she encounters along the way as she relives the heartbreaks and triumphs, the loves and losses.
“You want to know the secret about football? You have to get back up again, every time you’re hit …”
