“Soaked in smart, pop culture references, astute relationship insights, and endless humorous quips, Boyfriends is one of the best, if not the best, new plays of 2024. Like Pretty Woman for the 21st century, only prettier, funnier, and way sexier, Boyfriends has all the makings of a modern day, rom-com classic” – THE ARTS REVIEW ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Boyfriends is the latest play by emerging Donegal talent Ultan Pringle.
It opens in Dublin’s Project Arts Centre before a three night run here at An Grianán in July during the Earagail Arts Festival.
Boyfriends follows a three month affair between two anonymous men, played by Ultan Pringle and Emmanuel Okoye, charting the ups and downs and roundabouts of a modern situationship.
As they swing through four million one hundred and ninety one thousand possibilities of what they might mean to one another, through time, sex, Madonna songs, nightclubs, period dramas and calorie counting, Boyfriends asks us to ponder on that age old question: what the f*ck is romance anyway?
The performance also features the hottest voice cast in town in the form of Liam Bixby, Derbhle Crotty, Lora Hartin, Teddy Moore and Sìofra Nì Èilì.
Presented by LemonSoap Productions in association with An Grianán Theatre and Project Arts Centre. Kindly supported by the Arts Council.
