The Henry Girls from Inishowen need no introduction to Donegal or international audiences. The three sisters, Karen, Lorna and Joleen, whose exquisite three-part vocals interweave their native traditions with bluegrass, jazz and country, are one of Ireland’s top folk acts.
The sisters combine something of their Irish heritage with a much more contemporary sensibility and imbue it with compassion, insight, and warmth, both in their lyrics and their magnificent musicianship.
Na SíFiddlers are a group of 13 female Donegal fiddlers celebrating the healthy state of female fiddling in Donegal at present. This group brings together some of the finest fiddlers from Glencolmcille to Inishowen and everywhere in between to represent a huge tradition in Donegal.
In the autumn of 2019 the SíFiddlers ventured into the recording studio to produce their debut album showcasing some of the most popular and better known Donegal repertoire from all parts of the county: North, South, East and West.
This event is part of the Earagail Arts Festival, 16 days of music, theatre, visual arts, film, literature, circus & carnival on Ireland’s North West Atlantic seaboard 9 to 24 July 2022.
