ABOUT NOMAD

The Nomad Venue Network is a partnership of eight regional venues. The network was established in February 2006 to cultivate a partnership approach towards producing and touring between venues and professional production companies.

Central to Nomad’s objectives are:

  • To produce, promote and tour work of a high artistic standard which challenges and develops audiences
  • To encourage theatre companies, both national and international, to tour regionally.
  • To utilise and share resources i.e. space/revenue and knowledge, with a view to enriching and strengthening performing arts practice in our regions.
  • To support and encourage growth in the theatre industry in general and to create employment for arts practitioners both regionally and nationally.
  • To represent arts venues & professional performing arts companies in the regions in order to shape the future development of the performing arts and touring and inform Arts Council policy in relation to touring initiatives.

The Nomad network recognises the value of venues and production companies working together in a collaborative fashion. Nomad’s partnership approach extends beyond the production elements of the tour and includes the formation and implementation of, among other elements, a marketing strategy aimed to promote the tour and establish the Nomad “brand” at a local, regional and national level
