Drama fans rejoice! Sive is coming!

Seen by a whopping 30,000 people during its sell out run at the Abbey Theatre, we are delighted to announce that An Grianán Theatre will be hosting the Abbey Theatre’s Sive this October.

Beautiful young Sive lives with her aunt and uncle in rural Kerry. Seán Dóta, an elderly farmer, offers the local match-maker Thomasheen Seán Rua, a large sum for her hand in marriage. Will this be too much for her aunt and uncle to resist?

Don’t miss this chance to rediscover this dark, powerful story of greed and passion.

About the Abbey

Founded in 1904 by W. B. Yeats and Lady Augusta Gregory, the Abbey is Ireland’s national theatre.

They produces an annual programme of diverse, engaging, innovative Irish and international theatre and invests in and promotes new Irish writers and artists.

They do this by placing the writer and theatre-maker at the heart of all that they do, commissioning and producing exciting new work and creating discourse and debate on the political, cultural and social issues of the day. Their aim is to present great theatre art in a national context so that the stories told on stage have a resonance with artists and audiences alike.
